Scoil Naomh Pádraig was founded in 1966 by the Mercy Sisters and is still going strong today under the trusteeship of the Mercy Order. The school is situated on three acres of lovely grounds off Ballyroan Crescent and has 424 children at present on its roll.

Part of the Mission Statement of the school states that "Its mission is in cooperation with parents, to provide a holistic education in a Christian, caring and secure environment where each child is encouraged to achieve according to the best of her/his ability". This is what we are about in the school.

We are a community of pupils, parents, staff and management personnel who are striving to do the best for the children in our care. We are very proud of the great reputation of Scoil Naomh Pádraig. We are proud of our welcoming caring atmosphere and spirit. We are proud that we are a Mercy school. We are proud of all our pupils and past pupils.

Scoil Naomh Pádraig is a very special school. It is a great school. It has an excellent academic reputation, a strong sense of caring, a strong community bond. Each and every school in the country has an atmosphere, an essence, an ethos that is unique to itself. Scoil Naomh Pádraig is no exception. Ours is a product of mutual respect, trust and cooperation between everybody in the school community. In this school there exists an atmosphere of happiness, of learning, of respect and of fun. This spirit, this esprit de corps is something of which we are very proud. It is not something that just happens. It is arrived at and maintained by the dedication of all who have taught and worked here and by those who continue to work here today.
